Here Comes the Sun

The forecast for next week is amazing—temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s and sun. Sign up for a practice membership and get out and knock the rust off your game, or come make a tee time. You can make them seven days in advance, so if you want to take advantage of this early break in the weather, get on the tee sheet before it fills up.

Checking in With Chen and Padraig

I'm always excited when spring comes around—both because the season is kicking into gear here and because it's a chance to see how the hard work players like Peicheng Chen and Padraig Harrington have been doing during the off-season translates onto the course.

Chen visited Rock Hill two weeks ago and we did some substantial work on the timing and direction of his angular momentum. It paid off right away—Chen made 19 birdies over three rounds to win the Southern Invitational college tournament in Palm Beach.

Harrington is the ultimate grinder, and we've been spending hours working together over Zoom to build on the great season he had last year. It was so cool to see Paddy on the first page of the PGA Tour leaderboard last week at the Valero Texas Open, mixing it up with players 25 years younger. He ended up finishing tied for 10th, his third made cut in three tries on the regular tour. He's on a three-week break before heading out to play the heart of the PGA Tour Champions season, the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and Open Championship through May, June and July.

Don't Miss Out on Lesson Time!

The new membership programs have been hugely popular, and there only four slots left for the entire 2023 season—two Bronze, one Silver and one Gold. In addition to offering a discount on the single lesson rate, the membership programs give you a chance to book your preferred lesson times far in advance, throughout the season. Once those memberships are gone, you'll only be able to get scattered single lesson appointments this season.

Top Tip of the Month

This one is an oldie but goodie—a mid-lesson video I shot when Chen was 14 years old and on one of his earliest trips to Long Island. It really shows how your hands pulling on the handle early in transition changes what happens down by the ball. Chen's ball-striking is much improved today, as his is English!
